Until relatively recently, there was no indication that he would soon be among the boxing elite of Europe. About two years ago Luboš Šorm took up table tennis competitively. In this sport he was even one of the rising talents of the Czech Republic, which he represented at international events. But the arrival of a worldwide pandemic put his life on an unexpected track.

The rapidly spreading viral disease COVID-19 has caused quite a stir far and wide. But if it hadn't been for strict measures, the prospective Czech would probably never have known about his hidden passion. When everything shut down, he spent his time at the village gym. „My friends who were already boxing kept persuading me to give it a try. Once I went to the park with them, we sparred, but I kept getting beaten up,“ Luboš Šorm says with a smile about his beginnings today. Although he did not have the ideal conditions, he enjoyed the initial contact with the new industry to the full. A promising career in table tennis was slowly slipping into the background. „After about two months, I started to enjoy boxing more and more, and I told myself that I wanted to do it regularly. In short, I got into it, and I've been riding the wave non-stop ever since", admits the fast-rising youngster.

Skyrocketing!

Luboš Šorm soon fell completely into the world between the ropes. It didn't take long and he even became a national champion. Despite his still limited experience, he decided to sign up for the groundbreaking Hell Boxing Kings project. „I see my future in boxing. I would like to finish school and move abroad to train, currently I would probably choose England. I want to do everything I can to make a living in this sport. I can also make my surroundings happy through it", hints at his motivation as an English grammar school student majoring in PR and Marketing. Just winning the million dollar show could open the door to the big stages for him. The financial reward and the opportunity to get a strong partner are enough of a lure. Not only professionally, but also privately: „If I managed to win, I would first of all thank the people around me for helping me. So far I haven't had the chance to give back to them, at most by winning a fight, but that's not quite it. Besides, I would buy something nice, like a car." Luboš Šorm is one of the 32 best fighters who managed to get through the second phase of the revolutionary Hell Boxing Kings project. Eight of the best fighters in four weight divisions will face the big climax of the boxing champions league at tournaments during November and December. Only the top quartet can sit on the throne of the kings of the old continent.
